Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 23, 2026
Ankora ("we," "us," or "our") is a productivity assistant built for people who want clarity on what to do next. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we collect your email address. You can sign in with a one-time 6-digit code we email you, or with a password you set. If you choose a password, it is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text.
- App data. The content you create and that Ankora keeps for you is stored so it syncs across your devices. This includes your tasks, grocery lists, reminders, notepad notes, onboarding preferences (communication style, patterns, and context), and durable facts Ankora learns about you over time (for example, where you live, your role, important people, or ongoing constraints) so it can stay helpful across sessions.
- Conversation history. Messages you exchange with Ankora are processed by the Anthropic API to generate responses, and your conversation history (including past sessions) is stored and synced to your account so you can continue where you left off and review earlier conversations across devices.
- Calendar data. If you connect a calendar, you provide a calendar subscription link (such as a Google secret iCal address or an Apple public link). We fetch upcoming events from that link so Ankora can plan around your schedule. We read this data to show and reason about your events; we do not write to your calendar through this connection.
- Push notification data. If you enable reminders or check-in notifications, we store the push subscription details your browser or device provides so we can deliver those notifications.
- Payment information. If you subscribe, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but never see or store your card details.
- Usage and product analytics. We track a daily message count per account to enforce the free-tier limit. We also collect basic product-usage events (such as page views and key actions like sending a message or scheduling a reminder) and error reports to understand how Ankora is used and to fix problems. We do not sell this data.
2. How we use it
- To provide and sync your tasks, lists, reminders, notes, conversations, and preferences across devices.
- To let Ankora remember relevant context about you so it stays helpful across sessions.
- To read your connected calendar so Ankora can plan around your schedule.
- To send the reminders and check-in notifications you enable.
- To personalize Ankora's tone based on your profile settings.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To enforce fair usage limits on the free tier.
- To understand product usage, diagnose errors, and improve the service.
- To send transactional emails (sign-in codes, receipts). We don't send marketing email without your consent.
3. Third-party services
Ankora is built on services that have their own privacy practices:
- Supabase: authentication and database hosting.
- Anthropic: AI processing of your messages.
- Stripe: payment processing.
- Vercel: hosting and serverless functions.
- PostHog: product analytics.
- Google Analytics: website traffic and advertising measurement. Google sets cookies to measure how people find Ankora and whether an ad led to a signup.
- Sentry: error monitoring.
If you connect a calendar, the calendar provider you use (such as Google or Apple) is also involved, under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review these services' respective privacy policies.
4. Data retention and deletion
Your data is stored as long as your account is active. You can delete all your app data at any time from the app's Settings → "Clear all data," and you can disconnect your calendar or turn off notifications at any time in Settings. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Children
Ankora is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
